Accounting Generalist

Spec Furniture is looking for an Accounting Generalist. The Accounting Generalist is responsible for effectively and efficiently assisting in Spec Furniture’s invoicing and payment activities.  This position is directly accountable to the Controller for ensuring that proper financial controls are followed and maintained with respect to all financial records and procedures throughout the Company; preparing and submitting all applicable reports in a timely fashion. 

Day-to-day outcomes include: 

  • Process invoices
  • Run posting journals 
  • Record freight bills & analyze freight costs
  • Enter cheques received, and process receipts, EFT & credit card payments 
  • Maintain vendor database
  • Provide back-up support in Collections, Payroll & Benefits

Manufacturing Engineer

Spec Furniture is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer has the responsibility to provide support to the production teams in areas such as product/process design, engineering changes, and preventative maintenance. This role is also required to ensure that our production safety, quality, and environmental impact are continually improved by working collaboratively with other departments and contractors. The Manufacturing Engineer is required to work both independently, and collaboratively with maintenance, quality, product design, team leaders, and contractors.

Key outcomes include:

  • Use core processes (disruption tracking, engineering change notices, preventative maintenance, new product development, and key HSE processes) to support the day-to-day activities of the production, design, and maintenance team members.
  • Support the continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes by gathering feedback from the operations team, data from core processes, and information from other departments, then using that feedback data, and information to improve safe operations, minimize disruptions, and help to improve products.
  • Build and sustain collaborative and trusting relationships with internal team members and external contractors.
  • Support all aspects of the core processes including those of the second shift with regards to training needs and disruption support.
