Spec & Environment
To meet our environmental goals, we follow the LEVEL® sustainability standard put forth by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA).
All of our products are LEVEL®–certified by an independent audit firm, meaning that our products are sustainable in terms of our social actions, energy usage, material selections, and impacts on human environments and ecosystems.
Spec products are BIFMA Compliant. Products are tested against rigorous performance standards. Use the BIFMA Compliant website to find our ANSI/BIFMA compliance rating.
Healthier Hospitals’ Healthy Interiors standard requires that 30% of the annual volume of furnishings and furniture purchases (based on cost) eliminate the use of formaldehyde, perfluorinated compounds, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), antimicrobials, and flame retardants.
Certified Green® products bear the “green leaf” mark to identify interior construction products, furniture, and furnishings that have been designed and manufactured to dramatically lower chemical emissions released into the indoor environment.
