Spec and Sustainability

Our Environmental Story
Spec incorporates sustainability into everything we do, from materials we source to the manufacturing processes we use.

To meet our environmental goals, we follow the LEVEL® sustainability standard put forth by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA).

That’s not all—Spec is also dedicated to planting enough trees to completely offset the equivalent greenhouse gas emissions generated from our annual electricity consumption. We also have a track record of minimizing our use of energy by upgrading to energy efficient equipment, switching to more eco-friendly materials, redesigning packaging to reduce its environmental impact and finding sustainable recycling solutions for leftover materials.

All of our products are LEVEL®–certified by an independent audit firm, meaning that our products are sustainable in terms of our social actions, energy usage, material selections, and impacts on human environments and ecosystems.
